Keizer Chamber gives family cooks the night off

Keizer, OR – After a long day, the thought of cooking dinner and cleaning up the kitchen can be daunting.  The Keizer Chamber of Commerce is here to help.  A new initiative aims to support both home cooks and local restaurants.  The chamber calls it “Cook’s Night Off.”  By participating, you could win a $100 restaurant gift card.

“Our lives are busy and we have some great local restaurants,” said Danielle Bethell, Executive Director of the Keizer Chamber of Commerce.  “We thought why not help give Keizer cooks a break and support some of these eateries.”

Cook’s Night Off this month will be held at El Patron Mexican Grill and is scheduled for Wednesday, January 30th.  Keizer cooks and their families are invited to dine at El Patron Mexican Grill where they will be entered to win a $100 gift card.  There are two ways to enter the drawing.  You are encouraged to post a picture of your dinner at El Patron tagging both the restaurant and the Keizer Chamber of Commerce on Facebook.  Additionally, entries into the drawing can made at the restaurant with an entry form.  Cooks use both methods for double the chance to win.

“It is an honor to be part of the Keizer restaurant community,” said Carlos Pineda, owner of El Patron.  “With this program I look forward to exploring all Keizer’s restaurants have to offer.”

Each month a different local restaurant will be selected so stay tuned for February’s tasty offerings. The Keizer Chamber of Commerce represents more than 400 local businesses.  Its goal is to be a voice for these businesses in the local community and help them continue to thrive.
