Shaney Starr

Interim Executive Director

Shaney has worked in the nonprofit sector for over twenty years in various roles. Her passion is in serving her community and she specializes in working with struggling nonprofits and organizations to develop and grow in both impact and populations served. She hails from Pendleton, Oregon, home of the world famous Pendleton Round-Up! Shaney graduated from Northwest Christian University with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a minor in Speech Communications. After gaining real life working experience, she attended graduate school where she obtained an MS in Management and Organizational Leadership from Warner Pacific University. 

Shaney has served on the Keizer City Council since December 2021 and was recently elected by her peers to serve a second term as Council President. She is currently a member of the Marion County Public Safety Coordinating Council, serves on the boards for Keizer Rotary Foundation and Community Resource Trust, and is an active member of Keizer Rotary.

In her spare time, she enjoys volunteer work, reading, tending her roses, spending time with family and friends and being dog mom to the infamous Apollo, a medically fragile miracle dog from Northwest Boxer Rescue.

Shaney plays a key role in helping the chamber establish systems and policies to create a strong relationship between our businesses and community.

Administrative Assistant/ Events Coordinator

I was born and raised in Keizer and am a proud graduate of McNary High School. The highlights of my life are my three beautiful children. Thanks to them being part of sports at McNary, I have become secretary of the McNary Athletic Booster Club. Through all of my volunteering, I have been able to give back to this wonderful community. My goal is to help our town continue to grow and stay a safe and positive place to raise a family. When I am not volunteering or working, I enjoy crafts, gardening, and spending time with my family. Not to mention watching my kids, nieces, and nephews play sports.

Jill is in charge of keeping our visitors informed about our beautiful city and helping with the planning of the various events organized by the chamber throughout the year.
